More specifically, I used Microsoft visual studio .NET C# for the front end form so the normal user can input parameters to pass (i.e. filters, sorting, etc.) and SSRS /T-SQL to render the report based on the user's input (T-SQL for the resultset and SSRS for the graphical pdf output format of the report). These reports helped normal users for any operational standpoint to generate a report based on their "specific" current needs. With these reports, they could monitor their daily operations, make predictions, and assist them on any decisions.

There is a fantastic community of people who are more than willing to help when it comes to this which just shows how great the software is. For large database querying this is the one.
